Marketing StrategyMarketing Strategy

Two statements that seem to be conflicting, while both can be true:

  1. Marketing strategy is fundamental and indispensable to the enterprises of our age. When lacking, it has caused and is causing the loss of several small enterprises day after day.
  2. Although marketing strategy is useful, several enterprises that are doing well without it, and they manage to grow and turn a profit.

How is this possible? Because all enterprises that are turning a profit do have a marketing strategy, although the manager executing it never documented it or communicated it to their colleagues, and maybe never even became aware of its existence – but it still exists. This is because marketing strategy is nothing but an idea, a very practical plan regarding the steps that will lead us to realizing our objectives.

It’s obviously simple for a manager to say at a meeting that “I have everything right here in my head”. However, after a few simple questions are asked, it becomes clear whether everything is indeed in their head; whether there is a thoroughly considered answer to all important questions.

In addition, what happens if the given “head” is not available for a while because they are away, become sick, or are simply too busy to provide continuous step by step instructions to their staff?

We can help consider all this if needed, and will also help to implement the ideas that we come up with together. We can also help if someone has already thought about the marketing strategy or even documented it, but has encountered difficulties during implementation.
